Weather & Service Conditions Policy
Cutleaf Lawn Care & Garden Services
At Cutleaf, we work in outdoor environments where weather conditions can significantly affect the safety of our team, the quality of our work and the long-term health of your lawn and garden.
This policy explains how weather may affect scheduled services and how we make decisions regarding delays, postponements and service delivery.
This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. Where there is any inconsistency, our Terms & Conditions take precedence.
-
We aim to provide reliable, consistent service throughout the year.
Whenever possible, services are completed on or close to their scheduled day.
However, safety, workmanship and the health of your property will always take priority over maintaining a fixed schedule.
-
Outdoor conditions can influence:
Lawn mowing.
Garden maintenance.
Hedge trimming.
Weed treatments.
Fertiliser applications.
Mulching.
Green waste removal.
Property clean-ups.
Each service responds differently to changing weather conditions.
-
Our staff will not carry out work where weather conditions create an unacceptable safety risk.
Examples include:
Lightning.
Severe thunderstorms.
Flooding.
High winds.
Extreme heat.
Fallen trees.
Unsafe ground conditions.
Where these conditions exist, services may be postponed until it is safe to return.
-
Light rain does not always prevent work from proceeding.
Our team will assess:
Ground conditions.
Lawn moisture.
Soil stability.
Equipment safety.
Expected quality of the finished result.
Where safe and practical, some services may continue during light showers.
-
Mowing excessively wet lawns is generally avoided because it may:
Damage turf.
Leave wheel ruts.
Cause uneven cutting.
Create excessive clumping.
Spread fungal diseases.
Damage equipment.
Reduce the overall quality of the finish.
Where mowing would negatively affect your lawn, we will postpone the service until conditions improve.
-
Victoria regularly experiences periods of extreme heat.
During very hot weather we may:
Adjust work hours.
Prioritise staff safety.
Delay physically demanding services.
Reschedule afternoon appointments.
Some treatments, including fertiliser and herbicide applications, may also be postponed to protect plant health.
-
During winter, heavy frost may affect both lawns and plants.
Walking or mowing frost-covered lawns can damage grass blades and slow recovery.
Where practical, work may be delayed until frost has lifted.
-
Strong winds may prevent certain services from being completed safely.
Wind can affect:
Herbicide spraying.
Fungicide applications.
Hedge trimming.
Tree pruning.
Green waste handling.
Chemical applications are only completed under suitable conditions to minimise spray drift and maximise effectiveness.
-
Following major storms, our schedule may be affected due to:
Emergency property clean-ups.
Fallen trees.
Blocked access.
Safety hazards.
Increased demand for emergency services.
While we work hard to minimise delays, emergency situations may require temporary schedule adjustments.
-
Where irrigation systems are operating during our visit, we may request they be temporarily turned off while work is completed.
Water restrictions or extended drought conditions may also influence:
Lawn growth.
Fertiliser timing.
Plant health.
Mowing frequency.
Our recommendations may be adjusted to suit local conditions.
-
Many weed control and disease management products require suitable weather conditions.
Applications may be postponed if conditions are likely to reduce effectiveness, including:
Heavy rainfall.
Strong winds.
Extreme temperatures.
Frost.
This helps achieve better treatment results while protecting surrounding vegetation.
-
Service frequency may naturally change throughout the year.
For example:
Spring
Rapid growth may require more frequent lawn mowing and hedge trimming.
Summer
Growth may slow during extended dry periods.
Autumn
Maintenance often focuses on preparing lawns and gardens for winter.
Winter
Reduced growth generally means fewer mowing requirements while structural pruning and garden improvements become more common.
-
If weather prevents us from completing your service, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule your visit as soon as practical.
The replacement service may occur on a different day than your normal scheduled visit.
Our team continually adjusts service routes to minimise disruption following adverse weather.
-
Where practical, clients will be advised if weather is expected to significantly affect their scheduled service.
In some situations, rapidly changing weather may require decisions to be made on the day of service.
-
Clients can assist by:
Providing safe property access after storms.
Advising us of storm damage or hazards.
Turning off irrigation where practical before our arrival.
Reporting fallen branches or dangerous conditions.
-
We will not complete work simply to maintain a schedule if doing so would:
Damage your lawn.
Harm your plants.
Compromise safety.
Produce an unacceptable finish.
While occasional delays can occur due to weather, our goal is always to deliver the highest quality result rather than rushing work under unsuitable conditions.
-
If you have any questions about how weather may affect your scheduled service, or would like advice on the best maintenance program for seasonal conditions, our team is happy to help.
Thank you for choosing Cutleaf Lawn Care & Garden Services.
