Who is Cutleaf?
Cutleaf Lawn & Garden Care is a local, owner-operated business — not a franchise, not a call centre, not a stranger showing up in a truck with someone else's logo on it. When you deal with Cutleaf, you're dealing with people who actually live in and care about the communities we service.
Meet Ryan
Cutleaf is owned and run by Ryan Sanders, who handles everything from the first phone call to the final invoice personally. Before Cutleaf, Ryan worked in farming across the Goulburn Valley — hands-on experience with the region's soils, seasons, and what it actually takes to grow something well. In 2019, Ryan stepped away from farming to take a shot at running a business, taking on Cutleaf with a genuine appetite for the new learning and opportunity that came with it.
Since then, Cutleaf has grown into the business it is today — servicing two full regions and offering a genuine range of lawn and garden services — built the same way Ryan approached farming: understanding the land, doing the work properly, and not cutting corners.
Ryan runs Cutleaf alongside his wife and kids, with the family and the business growing together. The same mindset that got him here still drives how Cutleaf operates day to day — keep learning, keep improving, and do the best job possible for every property, every time.
Giving Back Through VICSES
Once Cutleaf was on solid footing, Ryan looked for a way to give back to the community that had supported the business — and found it with the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), joining the Wonthaggi Unit in 2020.
Since then, Ryan has volunteered his time helping the community through storm and flood damage response, and gone on to specialise further — first as a road rescue member, and now as a technical rescue operator specialising in high angle rescue.
It's a genuine time commitment, and one Ryan makes because it matters to him — the same drive to keep learning, keep improving, and show up properly for the people around him that runs through everything Cutleaf does.
Our Approach
Cutleaf strives for perfection on every job — but we're honest enough to know we won't always get there. When something goes wrong, we own it, fix it, and learn from it, rather than making excuses. That mindset of always developing — getting a little better, a little more efficient, a little more reliable — is what drives Cutleaf forward, for the business and for every client we work with.
It's the same approach Ryan brings to farming, to VICSES rescue work, and to running Cutleaf: show up, do the job properly, and never stop trying to do it better.
Why That Matters to You
When a business is genuinely embedded in the local community — not just servicing it from a distance — it shows up in the little things: knowing which suburbs have clay soil and which have sand, understanding what "overgrown" actually looks like on a Bass Coast holiday property left for three months, and caring about the reputation Cutleaf has in Shepparton, Wonthaggi, Cowes, and every town in between.
Our Team
Every member of the Cutleaf team is professionally trained, drug-tested, and holds current Police Checks and Working With Children Checks. We maintain low staff turnover deliberately — so the person mowing your lawn today is likely the same person who'll be there next visit, and the visit after that.
Where We Work
Cutleaf proudly services two regions:
Shepparton Region: Shepparton, Shepparton North, Kialla, Mooroopna, Kyabram, Tatura, Lancaster, Merrigum, Ardmona, Tongala and surrounding Goulburn Valley communities.
Bass Coast Region: Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Cowes, Cape Paterson, Korumburra, Leongatha, San Remo, Grantville, Venus Bay, Corinella, Kilcunda, Meeniyan, Walkerville, Wattle Bank and surrounding South Gippsland communities.
Our Approach to Pricing
We're upfront about the fact that Cutleaf isn't the cheapest option in either region — and we're not trying to be. What we offer instead is consistent, professional, insured work at fair and sustainable prices, delivered by a team that will still be here next year, and the year after that.
